The perimeter of an equilateral triangle is 363\sqrt33 m. Find the height (in metres).
Question

The perimeter of an equilateral triangle is 363\sqrt3 m. Find the height (in metres).

A.

12

B.

14

C.

16

D.

18

Correct option is D

Given:

Perimeter of equilateral triangle = 36336\sqrt{3} m

Formula Used:

Side of equilateral triangle = Perimeter3\frac{\text{Perimeter}}{3}

Height h of an equilateral triangle of side a: h = 32×a\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2} \times a

Solution:

Side of equilateral triangle  3633=123m\frac{36\sqrt{3}}{3} = 12\sqrt{3} m

Now,

Height, h = 32×123 \frac{\sqrt{3}}{2} \times 12\sqrt{3}

=12×32=362=18 m= \frac{12 \times 3}{2} = \frac{36}{2} = 18 \text{ m}
