The mean of the first 6 numbers = 39 

The mean of the last 6 numbers = 48  

Solution:

Sum of 11 numbers = $$11 \times 44 = 484$$ 

Sum of first 6 numbers = $$39\times 6$$ = 234

Sum of the last 6 numbers = $$6\times 48$$  = 288

Then the sixth number =  234 +  288- 484 

= 38
