    The greatest number which on dividing 50, 58 and 69 leaves remainders of 1, 2 and 6, respectively, is:

    A.

    7

    B.

    8

    C.

    0

    D.

    6

    Correct option is A

    Given:

    Given numbers are 50,58 and 69

    Remainder left in each case 1, 2 and 6

    Formula Used:

    The highest number which divides the numbers is HCF

    Solution:

    The number to be taken will be (50-1), (58-2) and (69-6)

    So, the HCF of 49,56 and 63 will be

    49 = 727^2

    56= 23×72^3 \times 7

    63 =33×73^3 \times 7

    HCF = 7
