Question

Parvati and Pari invest in a business in the ratio 5 : 26. If total profit is Rs. 3038, then what is difference between the profit (inRs.) of Parvati and Pari?

A.

2208

B.

1958

C.

2008

D.

2058

Correct option is D

Given:

Ratio of investment = 5 : 26

Total profit = ₹3038

Concept Used:

Ratio of investment is directly proportional to the ratio of profit:

i.e  investment \propto profit

Solution:

Investment ratio = 5 : 26

then, Profit ratio = 5 : 26

let the Profit of Parvati and Pari be 5x and 26x

Then,

5x + 26x = 3038

31x = 3038

x = 303831=98\frac{3038}{31} = 98

Now, difference = 26x - 5x = 21x

21x = 21×\times98 = ₹2058
