Question

A, B and C invested a sum in the ratio of 8 : 36 : 76, respectively. If they earned a total profit of Rs. 3,030 at the end of the year, what is the difference between the shares of B and C?

A.

Rs. 1,051

B.

Rs. 1,010

C.

Rs. 1,046

D.

Rs. 993

Correct option is B

Given:

Investment ratio of A : B : C = 8 : 36 : 76

Total profit = Rs. 3,030

Find the difference between the profit shares of B and C.

Concept Used:

Profit is divided in the ratio of investment.

Solution:

Total ratio = 8 + 36 + 76 = 120

Share of B: 36120×3030=36×25.25=909\frac{36}{120} \times 3030 = 36 \times 25.25 = 909

Share of C: 76120×3030=76×25.25=1919\frac{76}{120} \times 3030 = 76 \times 25.25 = 1919

Difference = 1919 - 909 = Rs. 1010
