    Rs. 169000 is divided among A, B and C such that A 's share is 6/7 of total share of B and C together and B's share is 4/9 of total share of A and C t
    Question

    Rs. 169000 is divided among A, B and C such that A 's share is 6/7 of total share of B and C together and B's share is 4/9 of total share of A and C together. What is the share of C?

    A.

    31000

    B.

    Rs. 11000

    C.

    Rs. 39000

    D.

    Rs. 21000

    Correct option is C

    Solution:

    As per question,

    => (6/7) × (B + C) = A

    => (B + C)/A = 7/6

    Using componendo and dividendo method

    => (A + B + C)/A = 13/6 ---- (eq 1)

    => (4/9) × (A + C) = B

    => (A + C)/B = 9/4

    => (A + B + C)/B = 13/4 ---- (eq 2)

    From (eq 1) and (eq 2) we get

    => A = 6, B = 4 and C = 13 - (6 + 4) = 3

    => A : B : C = 6 : 4 : 3

    So, C's share = (169000/13) × 3 = 39000

    ∴ The correct answer is 39000.
