Question

Let N be the greatest number such that when 1300, 4660, and 6900 are divided by N, the remainder is the same. The sum of the digits in N is:

A.

4

B.

6

C.

5

D.

3

Correct option is A

Given:
The given numbers = 1300, 4660, and 6900.
Solution:
To find the greatest number first calculate the difference between the given numbers.
So, the numbers are 1300, 4660, 6900
=> 4660 - 1300 = 3360
=> 6900 - 4660 = 2240
=> 6900 - 1300 = 5600
Now,  the HCF of Numbers N = 3360, 2240, 5600
=> N = 1120
=> Sum of the digits of N = 1 + 1 + 2 + 0
= 4
