Question

In triangle ABC, the angles are in the ratio of 2 : 3 : 4. The measure of the biggest angle in degrees is:

A.

100°

B.

80°

C.

120°

D.

150°

Correct option is B

Given:
The ratio of the angles of triangle ABC is 2:3:4.
Formula Used:
Sum of angles in a triangle = 180°
Solution:
Let the angles of triangle ABC be 2x, 3x, and 4x
Since the sum of the angles in a triangle is 180°,
2x + 3x + 4x = 180°
9x = 180°
x = 20°
Now, the angles of the triangle are:
First angle = 2x = 2 * 20 = 40°
Second angle = 3x = 3 * 20 = 60°
Third angle = 4x = 4 * 20 = 80°
Thus, the biggest angle is 80°.
