Question

If x5=y6=z11\frac{x}5=\frac{y}6=\frac{z}{11}, then (x+y+z)z\frac{ (x+y+z)}z is equal to:

A.

5

B.

3

C.

2

D.

4

Correct option is C

Given:

x5=y6=z11\frac{x}{5} = \frac{y}{6} = \frac{z}{11}

x+y+zz \frac{x + y + z}{z}  = ?

Solution:

Let

x5=y6=z11=k\frac{x}{5} = \frac{y}{6} = \frac{z}{11} = k

where k is a constant.

then

x = 5k, y = 6k, z = 11k

Substituting the expressions for x, y, and z into this expression:

x+y+zz=5k+6k+11k11k\frac{x + y + z}{z} = \frac{5k + 6k + 11k}{11k}

5k+6k+11k11k=22k11k=2\frac{5k + 6k + 11k}{11k} = \frac{22k}{11k} = 2

Thus the value of x+y+zz \frac{x + y + z}{z}  is 2.
