    Question

If a man travels at a speed of 15 km/h instead of travelling at a speed of 9 km/h, he travels 30 km more. The actual distance travelled by him is:

    A.

    45 km

    B.

    43 km

    C.

    42 km

    D.

    41 km

    Correct option is A

    Given:

The man travels at a speed of 15 km/h instead of travelling at a speed of 9 km/h, he travels 30 km more.

    Formula used:

    Time × Speed = Distance

    Solution:

Let's suppose he travelled for T hours.

According to the question, (15 - 9) = 6 kmph extra speed speed made him cover 30 km more distance.

    Hence,

    6 × T = 30

    => T = 5

    Thus, the actual distance traveled by him = 9 × 5 = 45 km

∴ The actual distance travelled by him is 45 km.
