If $$4sin^2\theta = 1$$ and $$\theta$$ is an acute angle, then the value of $$cos^2\theta + tan^2\theta$$ = _______.​

Solution:

​$$4sin^2\theta = 1 \\\sin^2 \theta = \frac{1}{4}\\\ \\sin\theta = \frac{1}{2}\\\ \\sin\theta = sin30^\circ \\\ \theta = 30^\circ$$ 

Then the value of 

$$cos^2\theta + tan^2\theta$$   = cos²30° + tan²30° = $$\frac{3}{4} + \frac{1}{3} = \frac{9}{12} + \frac{4}{12} = \frac{13}{12}$$​​
