Question

If 330 pencils were distributed among Rajesh, Suresh and Chandan in the ratio of 14:23:13\frac{1}{4}:\frac{2}{3}:\frac{1}{3} respectively then how many pencils did Chandan get?

A.

78

B.

88

C.

56

D.

48

Correct option is B

Given:

Total pencils = 330

Ratio among Rajesh : Suresh : Chandan = 14:23:13\frac{1}{4} : \frac{2}{3} : \frac{1}{3}

Solution:

Rajesh : Suresh : Chandan = 14:23:13\frac{1}{4} : \frac{2}{3} : \frac{1}{3}

= 3 : 8 : 4

Total parts = 3 + 8 + 4 = 15

Chandan’s share = 415×330\frac{4}{15} \times 330 = 88
