Question

From a two-digit number, the sum of its digits is subtracted. The resulting number is:

A.

always divisible by 6

B.

always divisible by 9

C.

never divisible by 4

D.

never divisible by 5

Correct option is B

Solution:
Let ab be a two digit number.
So, we can write ab = 10a + b
Now, sum of digits of Two - digit number ab is a+b
⇒ 10a+b-(a+b) = 10a+b-a-b = 9a
Hence, Clearly we can see 9a is always divisible by 9
Hence, Option (b) is true
