Question

A sum of Rs.1550 is lent out into two parts, one at 8% and the other at 6%. If the total annual income is Rs.106. then find the money lent out at each rate i.e.. 8% and 6%, respectively.

A.

Rs. 650, Rs. 900

B.

Rs. 700, Rs. 850

C.

Rs. 900. Rs. 650

D.

Rs. 800. Rs. 750

Correct option is A

S.I. = Rs. 106 Suppose that the sum lent at 6% interest rate is Rs. x.
Now, according to question,
(x×6×1)/100 +(1550−x×8×1)/100=106

6x+1550×8−8x=10500
2x=12400−10600
2x=1800
x= Rs.900
Money in 8% scheme : 1550-x=Rs 650
The sum lent out at 8% is Rs650 and at 6% is Rs900
