India will soon set up the world’s largest Green Hydrogen Microgrid project. It will be set up at Simhadri, Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

This project is in line with India’s vision to become carbon neutral by 2070 and make Ladakh a carbon-neutral territory.

Earlier, NTPC had commissioned India’s biggest floating solar plant in Telangana’s Ramagundam.

The hydrogen produced during the day will be stored at high pressure and would be electrified using a 50 kW Solid Oxide Fuel Cell.

The project will be useful for further deploying multiple microgrids in various off-grid and strategic locations.

Recently, NTPC REL signed an MoU with the Union Territory of Ladakh to set up India’s first green Hydrogen Mobility project.

Index has divided states into four categories: large states, small states, North East and Union Territories.

In the ‘large states category’, West Bengal has topped the charts.

In ‘small states’ category, Kerala was placed at top spot.

Jharkhand emerged as the worst performer on the index.

Among Union Territory, Lakshadweep topped the index with score of 52.69.

Mizoram topped the list in Northeast category, with score of 51.64.

Phookan was awarded the Padma Shri in 1990 and received the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship in 2002. Phookan is the third Assamese writer to have received the Jnanpith. The previous awardees were Birendra Kumar Bhattacharya in 1979 and Mamoni Raisom Goswami in 2000.

Damodar Mauzo is based out of Majorda, Goa, and has previously won the Sahitya Akademi Award. He is known for his novels, such as Karmelin, and Tsunami Simon, and short stories Teresa’s Man and Other Stories from Goa. This is the second Jnanpith Award for a Konkani writer— the first being Ravindra Kelekar in 2006.

Gen Bipin Rawat was on a visit to Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington (Nilgiri Hills) to address the faculty and student officers of the Staff Course.

The Museum houses a 25ft high statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda along with 9ft high statues of 13 other freedom fighters of tribal movement during India’s Independence.

Born on November 15, 1875, Birsa Munda belonged to the Munda tribe who led an Indian tribal religious Millenarian movement during the British rule in the late 19th century across the tribal belt of modern-day Jharkhand and Bihar.

The portrait of Birsa Munda is up on the walls of the Indian Parliament. Munda is the only tribal freedom fighter who has been honored.

Sol. State Cabinet of Arunachal Pradesh, headed by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, approved “Kaiser-i-Hind” as state butterfly on November 13, 2021.

Kaiser-i-Hind’ is a large and brightly coloured butterfly.

It is an elusive swallowtail butterfly, which carries ‘India’ in its name.

It is found in China and now it has been approved as the State butterfly of Arunachal Pradesh.

Kaiser-i-Hind is scientifically known as Teinopalpus imperialis. In literal terms, it means Emperor of India. The butterfly is having a wingspan of 90-120 mm.

Sol. The Uttar Pradesh government is all set to start an ambulance service for cows suffering from serious diseases, state Dairy Development, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary said on 14th November 2021.

The minister said 515 ambulances are ready for this scheme, probably the first in India.

An ambulance with a veterinary doctor and two assistants would arrive within a span of 15 to 20 minutes of requesting the service.

Under the scheme slated to begin by December, a call centre will be set up at Lucknow for receiving complaints.

Maharashtra state EV policy aims to have a 10 percent share of EV vehicles of total registrations in India by 2025.

Maharashtra’s new draft EV policy seeks to introduce at least 1,46,000 battery-operated electric vehicles on state roads by 2025.

The museum has been setup at a cost of about ₹1.1 crore.

The location for India’s 1st Food Museum was finalized as Thanjavur because of its historical significance for the FCI.

In a way, Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu is the birthplace for FCI as its first office was opened here on 14th January 1965.

Sol. The incubator is known as LINAC- NCDC Fisheries Business Incubation Centre (LlFlC).

The centre has been established at a cost of ₹3.23 crore under the central flagship Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).

Sol. India’s first Grass Conservatory was launched by the research wing of the Uttarakhand forest department on November 14, 2021, in Ranikhet of Almora district.

It has been established in an area of 2 acres.

The conservation area houses around 90 different grass species while displaying important ecological, scientific, medicinal, and cultural information related to grass species ‘All Flesh is Grass’.

During a virtual ceremony, the official adjudicator of the Guinness World Records in the UK Rishi Nath presented the certificate to Director General Border Roads (DGBR) Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhary for the remarkable achievement of BRO.

The Ministry of Defence on August 4, 2021, announced that the Border Roads Organization (BRO) has completed the construction of the world’s highest motorable road at an altitude of 19,300 feet at Umlingla Pass in Eastern Ladakh.

The road was being built in 2017.

This was stated in a new report by the research arm of consultants McKinsey & Co. that examines the national balance sheets of ten countries.

Net worth worldwide rose to $514 trn in 2020, from $156 trn in 2000.

China accounted for almost one-third of the increase.

China’s wealth jumped to $120 trillion in 2020 from just $7 trillion in 2000. This marks a jump of $113 trillion in 20 years, helping the nation surpass the United States in terms of net worth.

During the same period, the US saw its net worth more than double to $90 trillion. However, the nation could not beat China due to muted increases in property prices.

According to the report, there has been an increase in suicide cases in 2020 as compared to 2019.

In the year 2020, 1,53,052 cases of suicidee. an average of 418 cases have been registered daily.

According to statistics, Maharashtra reported 19,909 cases of suicide followed by Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Karnataka with 16,883, 14,578, 13,103 and 12,259 cases respectively.

The project is proposed to have a capacity of 120 KTA (kilo tonnes per annum) of maleic anhydride (MAH) that is used to make speciality products like polyester resins and surface coatings, plasticisers, agrochemicals, and lubricant additives.

The plant will also manufacture 20 KTA of 1,4-butanediol (BDO) that finds applications in polyurethanes, polybutylene terephthalates (PBT) – an engineering grade plastic and biodegradable fibres.
