ANSWER:

S1. Ans. c) 13

Sol. 2+x/5+x=⅚

= 12 + 6x = 25 +5x

=> x= 13

S2. Ans. a) 50000

Sol. Sold tickets of A,B,C categories are 3x, 2x, and 5x respectively.

Total Collection =(3x*1000)+(2x*500)+(5x*200)= 25000000

5000x = 25000000

x = 5000

Total sold tickets = 3x+2x+5x = 10x = 50000

S3. Ans. c) 7 : 9 : 15

Sol. A : B = 7 : 9 and B : C = 3 : 5 =9 : 15 (multiply by 3)

A:B:C = 7 : 9 : 15 ( B= 9 in both ration)

S4. Ans. b) 100 m

Sol. Length : Breadth = 5 : 2,

Length : 40 = 5 : 2,

L x 2 = 40 x 5, L = 100 m

S5. Ans. c) 500

Sol. 5x -50 : 3x+50 = 9 :7

35x-350 = 27x+450

x = 100

Boys = 5 x = 500

S6. Ans. a) 56 : 3

Sol. Boys : Girls = 4 : 3 = 32 : 24

Girls : Teachers = 8 : 1 = 24 : 3

Boys : Girls : Teachers = 32 : 24 : 3

Students (Boys + girls) : Teachers = (32+24) : 3 = 56 : 3

Sol.  4 : 2 = 4 x 4 : 2

= 64 x 2 : 32 = 4 : 1

S8. Ans. c) ₹ 600

Sol. 3*1000/5= 600

S9. Ans. a) 4 : 9

Sol. x/y=¾

4x-y/2x+3y=4x/y-1/ 2x/y+3

4*¾-1 / 2*¾ +3=  4/9

Sol. Number are 5x and 4x

5x* 40/100= 12

x = 6

Second number is 4x = 24

50% of 24 = 12

S11. Ans.b) 140

Sol. Let age are 5x and 9x

9x – 5x = 4x = 40 , x =10

Sum of age = 5x + 9x = 14x = 140

S12. Ans. c) 36 years

Sol. Present age is 3x and x

4 year ago : 3x-4/x-4 = frac51

x =12

A present age is 3x = 36

S13. Ans. c) 800

Sol. Boys -40, Girls -10

Average Age of boys = 20

Total Age of Boys = 20*40 = 800

Sol. Ratio after 2 years

5x+2/6x+2= 7/8

= 42x + 14 = 40x +16, x = 1

Ration after 12 years

5x+12 : 6x+12 = 17 : 18

S15. Ans. b) 60

Sol. 5x*2x= 1000

x2= 100, x= 10
