OSSSC PEO Syllabus 2025, Check Exam Pattern Details

Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission will soon invite applications for the Combined Recruitment Examination for different districts of Odisha for the post of Panchayat Executive Officer. While the notification isn’t out yet, the candidates can prepare for the examination beforehand with the syllabus and the exam pattern that is provided below.

OSSSC PEO Syllabus 2025

Candidates who are preparing for the Odisha Panchayat Executive Officer should be aware of the key details about the exam syllabus, pattern, marking scheme, etc. The exam will be conducted for 180 marks. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. A 0.50 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Here is the Syllabus provided below that the candidates can follow to prepare for the upcoming Odisha PEO 2025 exam and aim to successfully pass the exam.”

English (40 marks)

• Grammar & Usage: tenses, verbs, active/passive, modals, subject–verb agreement, articles, nouns, pronouns, prepositions, connectors
• Comprehension: unseen passages (400 – 450 words in length)  with a variety of comprehension questions

Odia (35 marks)

• Grammar & Usage: sandhi, samasa, taddhita, krudanta, word transformations (noun ⇄ , adjective), antonyms, synonyms, idioms & phrases, punctuation
• Sentence transformations: affirmative/negative, simple/complex, etc.
• Comprehension & translation (Eng to Odia and vice-versa)

Mathematics/Arithmetic (35 marks)

• Number systems, HCF/LCM, squares & roots, percentages, averages
• Interest (simple & compound), profit/loss, discount, partnership
• Time, work, distance, ratio & proportion, basic geometry (triangles, circles)

General Knowledge (35 marks)

• History (Ancient, Medieval, Modern), Geography (India & Odisha), Indian polity & constitutional schemes
  Current affairs (national & Odisha-specific), science & inventions, books & authors, sports, institutions & headquarters, etc.

Computer Knowledge (35 marks)

• Operating systems (Introduction to Windows), MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Access)
