Surface Area and Volume in Bengali: গণিতে যে কোনো ত্রিমাত্রিক জ্যামিতিক আকৃতির জন্য পৃষ্ঠের ক্ষেত্রফল এবং আয়তন নির্ণয় করা হয়। যে কোনো বস্তুর পৃষ্ঠের ক্ষেত্রফল হল বস্তুর পৃষ্ঠ দ্বারা আবদ্ধ এলাকা বা অঞ্চল। যেখানে আয়তন হল একটি বস্তুর মধ্যে উপলব্ধ মোট স্থানের পরিমাণ।

মোট ভূমির ক্ষেত্রফল

মোট ভূমির ক্ষেত্রফল সমস্ত বেস এবং বাঁকা অংশ সহ এলাকাকে বোঝায়। এটি বস্তুর পৃষ্ঠ দ্বারা মোট আবদ্ধ এলাকা।

Volume Definition: কোন বস্তু বা পদার্থ যে পরিমাণ স্থান দখল করে তাকে ঘন এককে পরিমাপ করা হয় তাকে আয়তন বলে। দ্বি-মাত্রিকের আয়তন নেই তবে ক্ষেত্রফল আছে। উদাহরণ হিসেবে বলা যেতে পারে যে, বৃত্তের আয়তন পাওয়া যায় না, যদিও গোলকের আয়তন আমরা বের করতে পারি।

আয়ত ঘনক (CUBOID)

Let length = l, breath = b and height = h units. Then,

Volume = (1 x b x h) cubic units.

Surface area = 2 (lb + bh + lh) sq. units.

Diagonal = √l2 + b2 + h2 unites

ঘনক (CUBE)

Let each edge of a cube be of length a. Then,

Volume = a3 cubic units.

Surface area = 6a2 sq. units.

Diagonal = √3 a units.

চোঙ (CYLINDER)

Let radius of base = r and Height(or length) = h. Then,

Volume = (πr2h) cubic units.

Curved Surface area = (2πrh) sq. units.

Total Surface area = (2πrh + 2πr2) sq.unita

= 2πr (h + r) sq.units.

শঙ্কু(CONE)

Let radius of base = r and Height = h. Then,

Slant height, l = √h2 + r2 units.

Volume = (1/3 πr2h) cubic units.

Curved Surface area = (πrl) sq. units.

Total surface area = (πrl + πr2) sq. units.

গোলক(SPHERE)

Let the radius of the sphere be r. Then,

Volume = (4/3 πr3) cubic units.

Surface area = (4πr2) sq. units.

অর্ধগোলক (HEMISPHERE)

Let the radius of a hemisphere be r. Then,

Volume = (2/3πr3) cubic units.

Curved surface area = ( 2πr2)sq. units.

Total Surface area = (3πr2) sq. units.

Example 1-

Find the volume and surface area of a cuboid 16 m long, 14 m broad, and 7 m high.

Solution:

Volume = (16 x 14 x 7)m3

= 1568 m3

Surface area = 2( 16 x 14 + 14 x 7 + 16 x 7) cm2

= (2 x 434) cm2

= 868 cm2

Example 2-

Find the length of the longest pole that can be placed in a room 12 m long, 3 m broad, and 9 m high.

Solution:

Length of longest pole = Length of the diagonal of the room

= √(12)2 + (8)2 +(9)2

= √289

= 17 m.
