Profit and Loss in Bengali: আমরা বাজারে একটি পণ্যের মূল্য নির্ধারণ এবং ব্যবসা কতটা লাভজনক তা বোঝার জন্য গণিতে লাভ এবং ক্ষতি সূত্র ব্যবহার করে থাকি। প্রতিটি পণ্যের একটি ক্রয় মূল্য এবং একটি বিক্রয় মূল্য আছে এই মূল্যগুলির মানগুলির উপর ভিত্তি করে আমরা একটি নির্দিষ্ট পণ্যের ওপর লাভ বা ক্ষতির হিসাব করতে পারি। লাভ এবং ক্ষতির মধ্যে কতগুলি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ হল profit and loss are cost price, fixed, variable and semi-variable cost, selling price, market price, list price, margin, ইত্যাদি।

Profit and Loss Important Concept: লাভ এবং ক্ষতি সম্পর্কে সবার কতগুলি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ধারণা সম্পর্কে জেনে রাখা দরকার।

Cost Price(CP): The price at which an article is purchased, is called its Cost Price, abbreviated as C.P.

Selling Price(SP): The price at which an article is sold, is called its Selling Price, abbreviated as S.P.

Profit or Gain: If S.P. is greater than C.P., the seller is said to have a profit or gain.

Loss: If S.P. is less than C.P., the seller is said to have incurred a loss.

Profit and Loss Formula: লাভ এবং ক্ষতি সম্পর্কে গণিতে যে সূত্রগুলি রয়েছে সেগুলি দেওয়া হয়েছে।

1. Gain = (S.P) – (C.P.)
2. Loss = (C.P.) – (S.P.)
3. Loss or gain is always reckoned on C.P.
4. Loss % = (Loss x 100)/C.P.
5. S.P. = (100 + Gain %)100 x C.P.
6. Gain % = (Gain x 100)/C.P.
7. S.P. = (100 – Loss%)/100 x C.P
8. C.P = 100/(100 + Gain %) x S.P.
9. C.P. = 100/(100 – Loss%) x S.P.
10. If an article is sold at a gain of say, 35%, then S.P. = 135% of C.P.
11. If an article is sold at a loss of say, 35%, then S.P = 65% of C.P.
12. When a person sells two similar items, one at a gain of say, x%, and the other

Loss% = (Common Loss and Gain%)2/10 = (x/10)2

13. If a trader professes to sell his goods at cost price, but uses false weights, then

Gain% = [Error/(True Value) – (Error) x 100]%

Example 1: A man buys an article for Rs. 27.50 and sells it for Rs. 28. 60. Find his gain percent.

Solution:

C.P. = Rs. 27.50, S.P. = Rs. 28.60.

So, Gain = Rs. (28.60 – 27.50)

= Rs. 1.10

Gain % = (1.10/27.50 x 100)%

= 4%

Example 2: If a radio is purchased for Rs. 490 and sold for Rs. 465.50, find the loss percent.

Solution

C.P. = Rs. 490, S.P. = 465.50

Loss = Rs. (490 – 465.50)

= Rs. 24.50.

Loss % = ( 24.50/490 x 100)%

= 5%.
