Question

XYZ mixes 64 kg of rice worth Rs.85 per kg with 36 kg of rice worth Rs.105 per kg. At what rate should he sell the mixture to gain 10%? (In Rs.)

A.

103.42

B.

105.42

C.

107.42

D.

101.42

Correct option is D

Cost of first rice
= 64 × 85
= 5440

Cost of second rice
= 36 × 105
= 3780

Total cost
= 5440 + 3780
= 9220

Total quantity
= 64 + 36
= 100 kg

Cost per kg
= 9220 / 100
= 92.2

Selling price with 10% gain
= 92.2 × 1.10
= 101.42
