Question

Two partners A and B started a business with the capitals of Rs.12,000 and Rs.18,000 respectively and made a profit of Rs.1,800 at the end of the 1st year. Find the profit share of B.

A.

Rs.1200

B.

Rs.1,080

C.

Rs.1,000

D.

Rs.720

Correct option is B

Given:
Capital of A= 12,000
Capital of B =18,000
Formula Used:
(ratioTotal ratio)×Total profit(\frac{ratio }{ Total \ ratio}) \times Total \ profit
Solution:
Ratio of profit = 12000 ∶18000
=> 2 ∶ 3
B's Share of Profit:
Total profit = 1,800
B's share = (3(2+3))×1,800 (\frac{3 }{(2+3)}) \times 1,800
B's share =  (35)×1,800(\frac{3}{5}) \times 1,800
B's share = 1,080
Therefore, B's share of the profit is
Rs. 1,080
