B.

35 : 34

C.

D.

12 : 17

Correct option is B

Given:

Two numbers are in the ratio 5:8.

The first number increases by 40% and second number decreases by 15%

Solution:

Let the ratio is 500 and 800

First  number is:

500×140100=700500 \times \frac{140}{100} = 700

Second number is:

800×85100=680800 \times \frac{85}{100} = 680

The ratio is 700 : 680  = 35 : 34
