Solution: 

Let the ratio is 500 and 800

First  number is: 

$$500 \times \frac{140}{100} = 700$$ 

Second number is: 

$$800 \times \frac{85}{100} = 680$$ 

The ratio is 700 : 680  = 35 : 34

So, that ratio is 35 : 34
