    Question

    Three numbers A, B and C are in the ratio of 5: 4:3 respectively. If C is 18 less than the sum of A and B, then what is the value of B?

    A.

    15

    B.

    9

    C.

    18

    D.

    12

    Correct option is D

    Given:

    The ratio of A:B:C = 5:4:3
    C is 18 less than the sum of A and B
    Solution:
    Now numbers will be 5x, 4x, 3x
    C = (A+B) − 18
    3x = (5x+4x)-18
    9x-3x = 18
    6x = 18
    x = 3
    Value of B = 4x =4×3=12
