Question

A vendor mixed 6.3 kg of peanuts, 2100 g of dates, 3.6 kg of cashews and packed the mixture equally into two and half dozen packets. The weight (in grams) of each packet is

A.

400

B.

200

C.

500

D.

300

Correct option is A

Given
Weight of peanuts = 6.3 kg = 6300 g
Weight of dates = 2100 g
Weight of cashews = 3.6 kg = 3600 g
Total packets = 2.5 dozen

Formula Used
1 kg = 1000 g
1 dozen = 12 items
Weight per packet  =Total weightTotal packets= \frac{\text{Total weight}}{\text{Total packets}}

Solution
Total weight = 6300 + 2100 + 3600 = 12000 g

Total packets = 2.5 × 12 = 30 packets

Weight of each packet = 1200030 \frac{12000}{30}

Weight of each packet = 400 g

So the correct answer is (a)
