    Question

Three metallic cubes whose sides are 15 cm,20 cm and 25 cm respectively are melted and converted into a single cube
If there is no loss of metal in this process, then what is the length of the side of the new cube?

    A.

    30 cm

    B.

    32 cm

    C.

    24 cm

    D.

    28 cm

    Correct option is A

    Given:
The sides of three cubes = 15 cm, 20 cm, and 25 cm respectively
    Concept Used:
When the number of solids reshapes in on solid then the volume of the solid is the same
    Formula Used:
Volume of the cube = a3^3
    Solution:
Let us assume the side of the single cube be X
    Volume of the first cube = 15315^3 = 3375 cm3cm^3
    Volume of the second cube = 20320^3 = 8000 cm3cm^3
    Volume of the third cube = 25325^3 = 15625 cm3cm^3
Total volume of all three cubes = The volume of the reshaped single cube
    X3X^3 = 3375 + 8000 + 1562 = 27000
    => X = 270003\sqrt[3]{27000} = 30 cm
