    Question

Three beakers have capacity of 250 ml, 650 ml and 200 ml each. 682 ml of juice is poured into the three beakers such that the same fraction of each is filled. How much is poured into the smallest beaker?

    A.

    122 ml

    B.

    124 ml

    C.

    152 ml

    D.

    132 ml

    Correct option is B

    Given:
Capacities of the three beakers are 250 ml, 650 ml, and 200 ml.
Total juice poured into the beakers = 682 ml.
The same fraction of each beaker is filled.
    Solution:
Let the fraction of each beaker that is filled be f.
    Total juice poured:
    f × 250 + f × 650 + f × 200 = 682
    f × 1100 = 682
    f = 6821100\frac{682}{1100} = 0.62
    Now,
    Juice in smallest beaker = f×200 = 0.62 × 200 = 124ml
