3 years ago, Kishore was $$\frac{3}{2}$$​  times as old as the Sarala.

Solution : 

Let present age of Sarala = x years

Present age of Kishore = y years.

$$x + y = 26$$ 

$$( x - 3 ) = 4 ( y - 3 )$$ 

Sum of present ages of Sarala and Kishore is 26 years.

​​$$x + y = 26$$ 

$$x = 26 - y$$ _ _ _ _ (1)

3 year ago, Kishore was $$\frac{3}{2}$$​ times as old as Sarala. 

$$( y - 3 ) = \frac{3}{2} (x - 3)$$ 

$$2y - 6 = 3x - 9$$ 

$$3x - 2y = 3$$ 

From equation (1)

$$3 ( 26 - y ) - 2y = 3$$  

​$$78 - 3 = 5y$$ 

​$$y = 15$$​ 

Putting value of y in equation(1)

​$$x = 26 - 15$$​

​$$x = 11$$​

Hence, the present age of Sarala is 11 years.
