    Question

    The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 3 : 4 : 5 the triangle is:

    A.

    right angled

    B.

    obtuse angled

    C.

    acute angled

    D.

    either acute angled or right angled

    Correct option is A

    Given:

    ratio of sides of triangle = 3 : 4 : 5

    Formula Used:

    The Pythagorean theorem states that for a right-angled triangle:

    Hypotenuse2=Base2+Height2\text{Hypotenuse}^2 = \text{Base}^2 + \text{Height}^2

    Solution:

    Hypotenuse2=Base2+Height2\text{Hypotenuse}^2 = \text{Base}^2 + \text{Height}^2

    c2=a2+b2c^2 = a^2 + b^2

    52=32+425^2 = 3^2 + 4^2

    25 =16+9

    25=25

    so, this is a right angle triangle.
