B.

loss of 40%

C.

D.

Correct option is A

Given:

Selling price of 9 articles is equal to the cost price of 15 articles.

Formula Used:

Profit Percentage=(SCC)×100\text{Profit Percentage} = \left(\frac{S - C}{C}\right) \times 100

Solution:

Selling price of 9 articles is equal to the cost price of 15 articles.

So, the equation is:

9S=15C

so  cost  price = 9 unit

selling price = 15 unit

Profit Percentage=(SCC)×100\text{Profit Percentage} = \left(\frac{S - C}{C}\right) \times 100

(5311)×100=(533)×100=23×100=66.67% \left(\frac{\frac{5}{3} - 1}{1}\right) \times 100\\ = \left(\frac{5 - 3}{3}\right) \times 100 \\= \frac{2}{3} \times 100\\ = 66.67\%
