Question

The ratio of price of a mango and an apple is 3 : 2. If the total price of an apple and a mango is Rs. 100, then find the price of a mango.

A.

Rs. 40

B.

Rs.60

C.

Rs. 80

D.

Rs. 30

Correct option is B

Given:
The ratio of price of a mango and an apple is 3 : 2.
Total price of 1 mango and 1 apple = Rs. 100.
Solution:
Let the price of mango and apple be 3x and 2x respectively.
Total price = Rs. 100
=> 3x + 2x = 100
=> 5x = 100
=> x = 20
Price of a mango = 3x
=> 3 × 20
=> Rs. 60
∴ The price of a mango is Rs. 60.
