    Question

    The perimeter of a rectangle is 26 cm and its length is 7 cm. Find its area in cm².

    A.

    32

    B.

    42

    C.

    36

    D.

    48

    Correct option is B

    Given: The length of a rectangle is 7 cm and its perimeter is 26 cm.

    Formula used:
    Area = L × W
    Perimeter of a rectangle = 2×\times(L+W)
    where,
    L is length
    W is width.
    Solution:
    Let the width = W
    Perimeter = 2×\times(L+W)
    26 = 2(7+ W)
    13 = 7 + W
    W = 6
    So , width is 6 cm
    Area = L × W = 7 × 6 = 42 sq. cm.
