Question

The measure of an angle is three times the measure of its complement. The angles are respectively:

A.

20.5°,67.5°

B.

22.5°, 67.5°

C.

20°, 60°

D.

22.5°, 60.5°

Correct option is B

Given:

The measure of an angle is three times the measure of its complement.
Identity Used:

Complimentary angle : x + y = 90°
Solution:

Let x be the required angle, the other angle is 3x.
According to the question,
x + 3x = 90°

4x = 90°

x = 22.5°
And the other angle measures
3x = 3 × (22.5°) = 67.5°
Then the Required angles are 22.5° and 67.5°.
