The difference between the ages of Radha and Murari is 12 years. Five years ago, the sum of their ages was 28 years. If Radha is older than Murari, find Murari's present age (in years).

Given: 

Difference between age of Radha and Murari = 12 

Five years ago, Sum of age of Radha and Murari = 28 

Radha is older than Murari 

Solution: ​

Let age of Radha be R and Murari be M 

Now, from first condition

R - M = 12 ...(1) 

From the second condition;

R-5 + M - 5 = 28 

R + M = 38 ...(2)

Adding Eq(1) and (2) 

R - M + R + M = 12 + 38 

2R = 50 

R = 25 year 

Then , Murari present age;

M = 38 - 25 = 13 years
