    Question

The diameter of a right circular cylinder is 14 cm and height is 2 cm. The sum of its curved surface area and the total surface area is: (Use π=227\pi = \frac{22}7

    A.

    484 cm²

    B.

    308 cm²

    C.

    176 cm²

    D.

    968 cm²

    Correct option is A

    Given:
Diameter of a right circular cylinder = 14 cm and height is 2 cm
    Formula Used:
Surface Area of right circular cylinder = 2πrh
Total surface area of the right circular cylinder = 2πr(r+h)
    Solution:
Surface Area of right circular cylinder = 2πrh

    =2×227×7×2=88= 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times 2 = 88 \\[15pt]
Total surface area of the right circular cylinder = 2πr(r+h)

    2×227×7×(7+2)=396 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times (7 + 2) = 396 \\[15pt]cm2cm^2

    Now, Sum = 396 + 88 = 484cm2cm^2
