Question

The area of three adjacent faces of a cuboidal box is 120 cm², 72 cm² and 60 cm², respectively. Find the volume (in cm3) of the box.

A.

425

B.

650

C.

720

D.

864

Correct option is C

Given:
The areas of three adjacent faces of a cuboid are 120cm2,72cm2,60cm2120cm^2 , 72cm^2 , 60cm^2
Formula Used:
Total surface area of cuboid = 2 (L×B+B×H+L×H)
Where L,B and H are length, breadth and height respectively.
Volume of cuboid =LBH
Solution:
In cuboid the adjacent faces area is given by: L×B,B×H,L×H
Where,
L×B=120cm2 B×H=72cm2 L×H=60cm2 L×B=120 cm^2 \\\ \\B×H=72cm^2 \\\ \\L×H=60cm^2 \\\ \\
Multiplying all three we get:
(LBH)2=120×72×60 LBH=5,18,400 LBH=720cm3(LBH)^2= 120×72×60 \\\ \\LBH= \sqrt{5,18,400} \\\ \\LBH= 720cm^3
