Question

The area of the curved surface of a cone is 195π cm2. If the slant height of the cone is 12 cm, find the radius of the base.

A.

15.5 cm

B.

17 cm

C.

14 cm

D.

16.25 cm

Correct option is D

Given:

Curved surface area (CSA) of cone = 195π cm2

Slant height l = 12 cm

Formula Used:

Curved surface area (CSA) of cone = πrl

Solution:

Now,

195π = π × r ×12

195 = 12r

r = 19512\frac{195}{12} = 16.25

Thus, The radius of the base is 16.25 cm.
