    Given:

    Srinivas’s wife is younger to him by 4 years

    Average of Srinivas and his wife’s age after 5 years = 33years

    Formula Used:

    Ratio and Proportions

    Solution:

    Let the age of Srinivas be x

    Then age of Srinivas’s wife is x -4

    Age of Srinivas after 5 years = x + 5

    Srinivas’s wife’s age after 5 years = (x - 4) +5 = x + 1

    Total age of Srinivas and his wife after  5 years = (x+5) + (x+1) =2x+6

    If average of both ages after 5 years is 33 years

    Then total age will be = 33× \times​ 2 = 66

    So, 2x+6 = 66

    x = 30years

    Present age of the girl = x - 4 = 26years
