Question

Some fruits were divided amongst A, B, C and D in the ratio 3 : 4 : 5 : 7. If A got 192 fruits, then how many fruits did B and C together get?

A.

756

B.

576

C.

675

D.

567

Correct option is B

Given:

Fruits are divided in the ratio A : B : C : D = 3 : 4 : 5 : 7
A gets 192 fruits.

Solution:
Let the common multiplying factor be x:

A = 3x = 192

x = 1923=64\frac{192}{3} = 64

Then,

B = 4x =4×64=256= 4 \times 64 = 256

C =5x=5×64=320 5x = 5 \times 64 = 320
B + C = 256 + 320 = 576 fruits
