Question

Seven students A,B,C,D,E,F and H gives a test No two students get same marks. A gets more marks than B. H gets more marks than A. Only two students get more marks than C. D gets more marks than C and B but D doesn't get the highest marks. If B did not get the lowest marks, then which of the following sequence of their marks is possible?

A.

H>D>C>B>E>F>A

B.

F>D>C>E>H>B>A

C.

H>D>C>E>A>B>F

D.

E>C>D>H>A>B>F

Correct option is C

Given:
Seven students A,B,C,D,E,F and H gives a test
No two students get the same marks.
A gets more marks than B.
H gets more marks than A.
Only two students get more marks than C.
D gets more marks than C and B, but D does not get the highest marks.
B did not get the lowest marks.
From the given information arrangementwill be:
Since C is third from the top, there must be two students with marks higher than C. From condition H > A, and since D \neq Highest , We deduce H >D>C
H>AH > A\neq Lowest , So Student ( let's say E,F ) has fewer marks than B
Combining all conditions, a possible ranking order from highest to lowest must be:
H>D>C>E>A>B>F
So, a possible ranking that fits the given conditions could be H>D>C>E>A>B>F
Thus, correct answer is (c) H>D>C>E>A>B>F
