    Question

∆PQR and ∆SQR are both isosceles triangles on a common base QR such that P and S lie on the same side of QR. If ∠QSR = 60° and ∠QPR= 100°, then find ∠SRP

    A.

    80°

    B.

    60°

    C.

    100°

    D.

    20°

    Correct option is D

We know PR = PQ and SR = SQ
    ∠QPR = 100°
    ∠QPR + ∠PQR + ∠PRQ = 180°
    ∠QPR + ∠PQR + ∠PQR = 180°
    100+∠PQR + ∠PQR= 180°
    ∠PQR = 40° and ∠PRQ = 40°
    Similarly, if ∠QSR = 60° then ∠SQR = 60° and ∠SRQ = 60°
    ∠SRP = ∠SRQ - ∠PRQ
    ∠SRP = 60 - 40 = 20°
