Question

P, Q, and R invest a sum in the ratio of 3 : 53 : 24, respectively. If they earned a total profit of Rs. 1,280 at the end of the year, then what is the difference between the share of Q and R?

A.

Rs. 533

B.

Rs. 464

C.

Rs. 417

D.

Rs. 570

Correct option is B

Given:

Investment ratio of P : Q : R = 3 : 53 : 24

Total profit = ₹1280

Solution:

Sum of ratio part = 3 + 53 + 24 = 80

Value per part = 128080=16\frac{1280}{80} = 16
ShareQ=53×16=848,ShareR=24×16=384\text{Share}_Q = 53 \times 16 = ₹848,\quad \text{Share}_R = 24 \times 16 = ₹384
Difference = 848 - 384 = ₹464
