In an examination a candidate had to sit for three papers A,B, and C. The candidate secured 75% marks in Paper A, 80% marks in Paper B, and 60% marks in Paper C. If the weightage assigned to Papers A, B, and C were 40%,50% and 10%, respectively, then find the weighted percentage of marks obtained by the candidate, when all the three papers were taken together.

A.

77%

B.

74%

C.

72%

D.

76%

Correct option is D

Given:
Marks in Paper A = 75%
Marks in Paper B = 80%
Marks in Paper C = 60%
Weightage for Paper A = 40%
Weightage for Paper B = 50%
Weightage for Paper C = 10%
Formula Used:
Weighted percentage=
(Marks in A × Weightage of A) + (Marks in B × Weightage of B) + (Marks in C × Weightage of C)
Solution:
Weighted % = 40% of 75 + 50% of 80 + 10% of 60  = 40100×75+50100×80+10100×60=76%\frac{40}{100} \times 75 + \frac{50}{100} \times 80 + \frac{10}{100}\times60 = 76 \%
