If x=12+1x=\frac{1}{\sqrt2+1}x=2+11, then what will be the value of x+1x+1x+1?
Question

If x=12+1x=\frac{1}{\sqrt2+1}, then what will be the value of x+1x+1?

A.

2\sqrt2

B.

2

C.

2+1\sqrt2+1

D.

21\sqrt2-1

Correct option is A

Given:

x = 12+1\frac{1}{\sqrt{2} + 1}
Solution:

x=12+1×2121=21(2+1)(21)=2121=21x = \frac{1}{\sqrt{2} + 1} \times \frac{\sqrt{2} - 1}{\sqrt{2} - 1} = \frac{\sqrt{2} - 1}{(\sqrt{2} + 1)(\sqrt{2} - 1)} = \frac{\sqrt{2} - 1}{2 - 1} = \sqrt{2} - 1

x+1=21+1=2x + 1 = \sqrt{2} - 1 + 1 = \sqrt{2}
