Question

If the volume of a cylinder is 256π cm3cm^3 and the radius of its base is 8 cm, then find the height of the cylinder.

A.

5 cm

B.

4 cm

C.

6 cm

D.

3 cm

Correct option is B

Given:

Volume (VV) = 256π cm3cm^3

Radius (rr) = 8cm

Formula used:

Volume of the cylinder:

V=πr2h V = π r^2 h

Solution:

height (hh): = Vπr2\frac{V}{π r^2}

Substitute values:

h=256ππ(82) h = \frac{256π}{π (8^2)}

2568×8\frac{256}{8\times 8} =4 cm

Thus the correct answer is (B)
