Question

If the length of each side of a cube is increased to three times its initial length, then its volume will become times its initial volume.

A.

27

B.

9

C.

6

D.

3

Correct option is A

Given:

Length of cube is increased to three times

Formula Used:

Volume of cube =a3a^3

Solution:

Let the initial side of cube be x

Volume = x3x^3

Now new length is 3x

New volume = (3x)3=27x3(3x)^3 =27x^3

So the new volume is =27x3x3\frac{27x^3}{x^3} = 27 times the old volume
