Question

If the diameter and the height of a cylinder are 12cm and 10.5cm, respectively, then using π = 227\frac{22}7, find the volume of the cylinder:

A.

1313 cm3cm^3

B.

1188 cm3cm^3

C.

1281 cm3cm^3

D.

1288 cm3cm^3

Correct option is B

Given:

Diameter of Cylinder = 12

Height of Cylinder = 10.5

Formula used:

Volume of Cylinder = πr2h\pi r^2 h

π=227\pi = \frac{22}{7}

r = Radius

h = Height

Solution :

Diameter of cylinder  = 12 cm

r=Diameter2r = \frac{Diameter}{2}

r=122r = \frac{12}{2}  =6cm= 6cm

Thus,

Volume=227×(6)2×10.5Volume = \frac{22}{7}\times(6)^2 \times 10.5

Volume=227×378=83167=1188cm3Volume = \frac{22}{7}\times 378 = \frac{8316}{7} = 1188cm^3

So, the Volume of Cylinder is  1188cm31188 cm^3
