Question

If a number X is 56 percent less than another number Y and Y is 10 perent more than 3000, then what is the value of X?

A.

1476

B.

1452

C.

1398

D.

1502

Correct option is B

Solution:

Y is 10% more than 3000

=> Y = 3000 + [(3000 × 10)/100]

=> Y = 3000 + 300 = 3300

Now,

X is 56% less than Y i.e., 3300

=> X = 3300 - [(3300 × 56)/100]

=> X = 3300 - 1848

=> X = 1452

∴ The correct answer is 1452.
