P is 15% less than Q

Q is 12% more than 156

Solution

If Q is 12 % more than 156

Then Q = $$156\left(\frac{100+12}{100}\right)= 174.72$$​​

Now P is 15%  less than Q

P =$$174.72\left(\frac{100-15}{100}\right) = 148.51$$​​

Alternative Method:

​$$P = 156\times \left(\frac{112}{100}\right)\times \left(\frac{85}{100}\right) = 148.51$$​​
