Question

If A can complete a task in 10 days and B can complete it in 4 days, then in how many days will both of them together complete the task?

A.

207\frac{20}{7}

B.

197\frac{19}{7}

C.

277\frac{27}{7}

D.

267\frac{26}{7}

Correct option is A

Given:

If A can complete a task in 10 days and

B can complete it in 4 days.

Formula Used:

Total work = Efficiency ×\times time

Solution:

If A can complete a task = 10 days

B can complete it = 4 days

Total work done by A and B= LCM(10 , 4) = 20

Total Efficiency of A = 2010=2\frac{20}{10} = 2

Total Efficiency of B = 204=5\frac{20}{4} = 5

A and B together complete the task = 207\frac{20}{7} days

Hence, option (a) is correct.
