Question

If 9 May 2016 was a Monday, then what day of the week was 2 September 2016?

A.

Thursday

B.

Tuesday

C.

Friday

D.

Sunday

Correct option is C

Given :

9 May 2016 was a Monday
Calculate the number of days between 9 May 2016 and 2 September 2016.
From 9 May to 31 May: 31 - 9 = 22 days.
In September month :-1 September + 2 September = 2 days
Total number of days between 9 May 2016 and 2 September 2016 :-
22 days  ( May ) + 30 days ( June ) + 31 days ( July)  + 31 days ( August ) + 2 days ( September )  = 116 days
Divide the total days by 7 to find the remainder :-
1167\frac{116}{7} = 16 weeks and 4 days. The remainder is 4.
Determine the day of the week :- Since 9 May 2016 was a Monday, move 4 days forward:
Monday + 4 days = Friday
hence the correct answer is Friday.
The correct answer is option (c) Friday
